Aaron Clark, Principal

Mr. J. Aaron Clark

Mr. Clark is entering his 5th year as principal at Mount Gallant Elementary School.  Mt. Gallant students show improvement in their learning year over year for the past five years, with high accountability and growth outcomes for students.  Mt. Gallant was also recognized internationally in 2024-25 as a Model PLC School at Work by Solution Tree, demonstrating strong collaboration and a team approach for student growth and achievement among teachers at the school.  Previously, Mr. Clark served as Assistant Principal at Saluda Trail Middle School.  While at STMS, Mr. Clark served as the RHSVA Liaison, Instructional Technology Committee Chair, District Scheduling Committee member, District Re-entry Committee member, STMS SIC member, and Athletic Re-entry Committee member.  

He has served as a general education teacher at Madisonville North Hopkins High School and the Social Studies department chair, while teaching AP US History, US History, Civics, and Geography.  He led professional development, monitored implementation, and cultivated effectiveness in the areas of data-driven instruction and standards-based grading and tracking student progress.

During his time as chair, Social Studies department EOC scores increased each year from 2011-2015.  In 2015, he moved into the position of assistant principal at Madisonville North Hopkins High School where the school achieved School of Distinction (top 10%) status in state accountability.  In 2017, he served as the principal of Hanson Elementary School which led the district in state accountability after his second year with a four-star rating.  

Mr. Clark holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Southern Indiana, a Master of Arts in History from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Master of Arts in Education Administration from Murray State University
