Mikel rider, Physical Education

My name is Mikel Rider and I am excited to be Mt. Gallant Elementary’s PE teacher! I have been teaching for 17 years (8 in middle school math and 9 in high school PE). I received my undergrad from the University of South Carolina and then my masters from Winthrop University.

I believe that physical education should be fun while also helping students build healthy habits that will benefit them for years to come.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two children, coaching soccer, and cheering on the Gamecocks!
